You Tell Me.... No. 1

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page! DIY Vintage Chic.

I recently posted about pictures of my Projects in the Works. A few of them I'm spinning my wheels on. Just can't make a decision. A number of you have passed along great ideas for previous projects so I decided to create a new series, You Tell Me.

First in the line-up, the old wooden swing. It's in the process of being sanded right now but what's next?

You tell me....

Check out who I've linked up with this week by going to my Linky Party Page!

***While I'm thrilled to share my step-by-step directions, the good and the bad, these are intended for your personal use. I'm always happy to hear and see what my bloggers have been working on. BUT a lot of work goes into these creations and while I have no issues sharing so you are able to create the work for your precious homes please understand that selling an exact duplication of my designs is highly frowned upon. :( Please always be considerate of another artists work. Thank you!***

  1. I think you should dry brush it white, then sell it for a good price my friend!! Or, you could keep it if you really want it?!! Lol!! I hope this helps you out?!!!

  2. I think you should KEEP IT as everyone needs a porch swing to relax away the days cares and I think paint it the same color as your front door!HA!

  3. I have a swing just like that one. I gave it to my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary, 30 years ago. I have painted it several colors over the years. I want to paint mine yellow. It has a blue, chartreuse and yellow design. Decide what color scheme you want for the area and pick a bright color from that. I hope to see the finished project. I hope to paint mine when the weather cools off.

  4. Hi Becca, I voted for white because I had a swing just like it in white and I loved it. Of course, if you're looking for a pop of color blue or vintage green is always fun! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  6. Well, I voted, and it seems most everyone voted the same! I have a similar swing and have just added a cushion and lots of pillows. I'm linking to day at DIY'ers, too - found you there. I'm posting lots of easy pillows this week, as well. I haven't painted my swing, but it's always a possibility for the future. ;-)

  7. I am having serious porch swing envy....would looove one-just don't think it would look just as good in rainy Ireland!!

  8. If I had a proper porch, I would have a porch swing! I'm guessing based on your gallery that your door is red? I say natural or white - and keep it, of course!
