Another Christmas Gift!!! Actually I made two of these. Unfortunately I was so busy before Christmas trying to complete all of these gifts that I didn't snap many pics. I also got caught up in unwrapping Christmas gifts and didn't get too many After pictures. I'll try to add a few in the future. I was sent the pic below via Facebook and a number of people chimed in about how cool it looked so I figured I had to give it a try.
I thought using actual baseball bats would make this piece of art extremely heavy. So I ordered these Mini Bats from Amazon.
Since I don't have any pictures of the process I won't go into detail. Luckily the hubby was happy to help me and figure out a way to cut these boards in half. He decided to give me a Christmas present early, a new TABLE SAW! We made a jig and cut the bats in half.
From there it's just a matter of how to display them and painting. Here is the one After picture I have of my aunt.

I thought from my original research this is actually displayed in a Baseball Hall of Fame but I'm unable to find this info now. |
Each are 17 inches |

***While I'm thrilled to share my step-by-step directions, the good and the bad, these are intended for your personal use. I'm always happy to hear and see what my bloggers have been working on. BUT a lot of work goes into these creations and while I have no issues sharing so you are able to create the work for your precious homes please understand that selling an exact duplication of my designs is highly frowned upon. :( Please always be considerate of another artists work. Thank you!***
That is awesome! I think my oldest son - a baseball fanatic - would love to have something like this! Thank you so much for the crafty idea!
