DIY Baseball Bat American Flag

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page! DIY Vintage Chic.
Another Christmas Gift!!! Actually I made two of these. Unfortunately I was so busy before Christmas trying to complete all of these gifts that I didn't snap many pics. I also got caught up in unwrapping Christmas gifts and didn't get too many After pictures. I'll try to add a few in the future. I was sent the pic below via Facebook and a number of people chimed in about how cool it looked so I figured I had to give it a try.
I thought from my original research this is actually
displayed in a Baseball Hall of Fame but I'm unable
to find this info now.
I thought using actual baseball bats would make this piece of art extremely heavy. So I ordered these Mini Bats from Amazon.
Each are 17 inches
Since I don't have any pictures of the process I won't go into detail. Luckily the hubby was happy to help me and figure out a way to cut these boards in half. He decided to give me a Christmas present early, a new TABLE SAW! We made a jig and cut the bats in half.
From there it's just a matter of how to display them and painting. Here is the one After picture I have of my aunt.
Thanks for stopping by!

***While I'm thrilled to share my step-by-step directions, the good and the bad, these are intended for your personal use. I'm always happy to hear and see what my bloggers have been working on. BUT a lot of work goes into these creations and while I have no issues sharing so you are able to create the work for your precious homes please understand that selling an exact duplication of my designs is highly frowned upon. :( Please always be considerate of another artists work. Thank you!***

  1. That is awesome! I think my oldest son - a baseball fanatic - would love to have something like this! Thank you so much for the crafty idea!

  2. I think you've got tons to brag concerning! and that i would not worry about being "overly boastful" as a result of you are tooting your own horn! i favor to listen to the great stuff that individuals do. It's far better than hearing the long list of crap and ailments they're experiencing over ... and over ... and once again. Hearing unhealthy stuff all the time is simply not smart.
