DIY Chevron Wall Art

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page and Follow me on Twitter!

Have you ever found something random that you just have to keep? I found these little guys while a neighbor was cleaning out her basement. So I said, umm, of course I'll take them off your hands and use them....for something..... someday
Well that day has finally come! The chevron pattern is pretty popular now and I've been wanting to add more to our Beach Cottage Bedroom. This is what I cam up with!
I painted some of the pieces with blues and greens. I was going for a patina look but didn't quite get it. I was still pretty happy with the outcome though.
I spray painted other pieces with Rustoleum's Oil Rubbed Bronze Metallic Spray.
I used a walnut stain on a 2'x2' board I had laying around. Once it dried I laid out my pattern. Blue, Black, Steel, Spacer, repeat. I glued them down with E6000 Epoxy except for the Spacer piece.
While my glue was drying I made a frame to fit the board and using the same Oil Rubbed Bronze Spraypaint I coated the frame.
Once the glue was fairly set I pulled out my Spacer pieces to let the wood grains show through.
Attached the frame to the board and it was ready to go!
 Love this pattern!

Thanks for stopping by!
