Create a Rubber Stamp of your Logo!

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page! DIY Vintage Chic.

Do you ever get bored with throwing your graphic logo on everything? I do so I decided to make my own stamp!

Materials:
Speedball Speedy Carve ~ I bought mine from Jerry's Artarma online store
Carving Tools ~ Artarma has these as well but I've come across them at other craft stores
Ink Pad ~ in your preferred color
Scrap Wood ~ the same size as your stamp
Epoxy ~ to attach the rubber and wood
SOMETHING TO STAMP! ;)

With my new logo designed using some fonts I found online and a frame from The Graphic Fairy, first I transferred it onto the rubber.
And then I started carving away.
The rubber material is MUCH easier to carve away as oppose
to the wood carvings I've done in the past.
I happen to have a scrap piece of wood about the same size as my stamp. So I used some epoxy to attach them together.
Now you're ready to stamp away!
You can see extra lines next to the 'Y' and along the outer edge. You can trim those off if you'd like. For my 'Vintage' logo it seems fitting.

Thanks for stopping by!

  3. Love it! How did you transfer your logo to the rubber?

    1. If I remember correctly I printed out my new logo, shaded the backside of my paper with pencil and then traced over the logo while it was sitting on the rubber. Using carbon paper has the same effect.

  4. How long did it take you to carve that? I’ve never tried making a stamp out of wood carvings before, but they just simple letterings and the fonts were bold so it was much easier. Your logo, however, comes in modish font, so I don’t think I’ll ever perfect doing something like that.

    1. Not too long. I've done a lot of large wood carvings though so this seemed easy compared to those!
