Transfer Image to Wood Tutorial Tip

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page! DIY Vintage Chic.

Here's a quick tip when working on the Image Transfer to Wood! This will ONLY work on a stain project! I've used this process of several of my Wine Crate Tables.

Do you ever to this point when rubbing off the paper? Sometimes it seems like all the paper is NEVER going to come off.

You rub FOREVER... until the point that you have blisters!
Yes, for the first time ever I gave myself 3 blisters

So when you get to that point and your fingers are about to fall off and almost bleeding, grab your paint brush and apply a very light coat of stain across the image.
Quickly wipe away any excess and you're done!
You can find all the images I've used through The Graphics Fairy

  2. Awesome! So the white (paper) all goes away when the paper comes off? Just the IMAGE only gets transferred right?
    TIA

  3. What if you are doing a colored print? Will the stain absorb into the color? Can the wood be stained before hand? Thanks, Cheryl

    1. Hey Cheryl - I would stain the wood first and then do the transfer. You can find the instructions for the color transfer here http://diy-vintage-chic.blogspot.com/2013/06/color-image-transfer.html
