DIY Laminate Flooring

Don't forget to stop by and Like my Facebook Page! DIY Vintage Chic.

I've been a little MIA lately and here's why. Our rental house needed some work done before a new renter moved in. You can see below why we needed to replace the living room floor.
Do you see the outline of where the furniture was sitting?
We {and by 'we' with most of this post I mean my husband} ripped up the carpet and padding. We also had to level out the floor. I did actually help with that. Please don't think I left the hubby to work on this while I sat around doing nothing. I've painted every wall in the house and about 1/3 of the ceilings to cover up crayon and pen doodlings from the last renter's children.
We owe endless dinners and beers to our friend Danny. He came over to help us install the flooring. Tricky part was around the stairs.
We purchased the flooring for a pretty good price. We were looking online and in stores everywhere for a week or so when we stumbled across this great flooring at Sam's. This isn't a plug and I'm not being paid by Sam's or the flooring company for this post. We simply thought it was a great price and quality.
The boys worked hard for most of the day. The floor's pretty easy to lay but there are some parts that take a little time. The stairs were tough to begin with and then we would come across pieces like this. We were about an inch and a half out from the wall. Just a tad to wide for the base board and quarter round to cover up so we had to squeeze in a piece.
Finally we finished up the last piece! I'll post more pictures once we have the base boards back up.
We have a few more projects to finish up around the house before our new renter moves in. Always fun projects at the rental! If you remember, last year we redid one of the hall bathrooms.

Thanks for stopping by!
